Public and member access
Public pages can be read without a ChatGPT account. Discord sign-in checks your identity, membership in the unit server and Verified role before allowing access to personnel records, Unit History and the Archive. The personnel directory uses server-visible profile information, unit roles and recorded service information.
Google staff sign-in
Staff sign-in verifies a Google account identifier and verified email address. Staff access requires an active approved email linked to the same personnel record as the signed-in Discord account. Ordinary sign-in requests only OpenID and email information. It does not request Gmail messages, contacts or calendars. The approved email and Google account identifier are stored in the staff access list. Staff sessions expire after at most six hours.
Optional Google Docs connection
Operations staff can separately connect Google Docs with read-only permission to import a document they submit. The importer reads available document tabs, text, tables and supported embedded images. It does not edit the Google document. Source text, explanations, image inventory and supported images are retained with the import and its audit history. Imported images are restricted to operations staff until review; images attached to an accessible operation remain restricted to verified members. Public operation summaries do not include these private document images.
The optional Docs connection stores encrypted access and refresh tokens on the server. Disconnect Google Docs in the operations workspace to remove that saved connection. Previously imported unit records remain stored. You may also revoke the application's permission through your Google account settings.
Personnel portraits
Members can save a fictional character selection, frame and motion preference, or display an approved personnel image. Character presentation, skin tone and face labels describe the selected artwork; they are not inferred from a member's account or recorded as their real-world demographic identity. Authorized personnel staff can assign these preferences. Portrait insignia use recorded unit rank, awards and qualifications. Appearance preferences and their changes are stored separately from those service records.
Records and comments
Unit staff maintain service periods, assignments, qualifications, awards and related unit records. Public articles and training announcements are published by authorized staff. If you post a comment on a public article, your avatar, personnel name, rank, timestamp and comment are visible to visitors. You can edit or remove your own comments; staff can moderate or lock discussions. Removed content and changes may remain in the audit history.
Storage and access
The site uses secure session cookies for authentication and browser session storage to remember whether the startup animation has played. Server records, approved uploads and audit history are retained for unit administration. Discord tokens and optional Google Docs tokens are encrypted on the server. Staff permissions and Google authorization are checked on the server. Google sign-in tokens are not retained after verification unless staff separately authorize the Docs connection described above. Website hosting and authentication providers process the data needed to deliver their services.
Questions, corrections and removal
Contact unit command through the unit Discord server to request a correction, staff access removal or account-data review. Sign out through Member Access to end your current website session. You can also review connected applications in your Google and Discord account settings. Some historical and audit records may need to remain to preserve the unit record.
